The firm represented an insurer in a fire subrogation case against Mack Trucks, Inc. The suit arose from a fire that destroyed a 2006 Mack Truck, model number CHN613, resulting in a total loss which was paid by the insurer under the policy of insurance. Suit was filed on behalf of the insurer against Mack and a repair facility alleging breach of warranty, among other claims. Shortly after the fire, Mack issued a Safety Recall Alert warning that faulty fuel lines could spray fuel onto the engine exhaust pipes, resulting in an engine fire. An expert for the insurer who examined the fuel lines on the suit vehicle after the fire opined that the fire began in this exact manner. Mack alleged that the fire resulted from faulty work by the insured's mechanic. The amount of the loss was almost $90,000 and the suit was settled prior to trial for a total of $87,500 between both defendants.
